The Outnet is the outlet site of the high-fashion-focused Net-a-Porter, which is great news for us! We absolutely adore browsing through Net-a-Porter's designer offerings, but let's be honest, the prices can be a bit out of reach for most of us. Especially in this economy, it makes perfect sense for high-end retailers to cater to budget shoppers like us. TheOutnet.com even refers to it as "chic discount shopping," which is quite a change from how designer circles used to view it just a few years ago.
Of course, as with any outlet, you won't always find the latest trends. But we, as smart shoppers, understand that when it comes to designer pieces, we're more interested in investing in timeless staples or standout statement pieces rather than fleeting trends.
The Outnet: Our Review
Our review: The site branding of Net-a-Porter is visually appealing, with a clean and trendy design that gives off an upscale vibe. It's definitely a far cry from the outdated Target website. One of the joys of online shopping is the visual experience, and Net-a-Porter delivers on that front.
But what really keeps us coming back is the quality of the products and the prices. The Outnet, in particular, offers easy navigation with its clean design. You can search by designer, category, or sale right from the first page. As fans of designer fashion, we headed straight for the designers section and found a great selection. We were especially drawn to Lela Rose, known for their clean-cut and feminine garments. We were thrilled to find 20 items on sale, including a stunning cap sleeve silk dress that was originally priced at $1,295 but is now available for just $453.25 at a 65% discount. We understand that this may not be considered a budget price, but for a designer silk dress that originally cost over a thousand dollars, it's a relative steal.
However, we did encounter a downside to outlet shopping - limited sizes. Unfortunately, this particular item was only available in US sizes 4 and 6. But that's to be expected when shopping at outlets. On the bright side, we were able to search for other items by size, albeit not by number size. By selecting "L" under the "clothing" category, we found 125 items, including a stylish 100% silk MINT Jodi Arnold colorblock sleeveless dress for $225, which is half off its original price.
Overall, we were impressed with the visual appeal and easy navigation of the site, as well as the great deals on designer items. Despite the limited sizes, we still found plenty of options to choose from. We'll definitely be returning to the Outnet for our future shopping needs.
You can easily modify your search results on each page with just a quick click or two. You can filter by designer, color, or category such as tops, dresses, jackets, and more. So, if you're looking for a size M blue Fendiskirt, you'll find out in just 5 seconds if they have it or not (although currently they don't have it).
Overall, it's not exactly a revolutionary online shopping experience, but it's definitely easy to navigate, visually appealing, and offers great discounts on big designer brands. So, if you're a designer addict, go ahead and bookmark this website!
